Let us put professional communications experience to work for you: writing, editing, public presentations and negotiations. I have a Master's degree in Communication, emphasizing Interpersonal Relationships, and nearly 10 years experience as an Adjunct Communications Professor. I have also taught business writing in the professional workplace, and I believe that the best writing can be clear and technically proficient, but it needs to have the perfect degree of readability to get results.
I commonly make presentations on topics such as teamwork strategies; conflict in the workplace; managing perceptions; and the challenges of good communication. These interactive presentations are always candid, engaging, and fun.
I have extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution as a lead mediator and co-mediator. Whether struggling at home with a family issue or facing interpersonal conflicts in the workplace, I have completed training in basic mediation and advanced training in conflict resolution, and have met family mediation requirements in the State of TX. I have a sound track record for assisting in the resolution of many workplace EEO issues involving job selections, reasonable accommodations, disciplinary action, and allegations of retaliation.
**Please note: I am a Mediator, not an attorney. For example, while I am able to mediate family matters such as those pertaining to divorce, custody, support modifications , etc., and I can draft a settlement agreement if both parties come to a mutual decision, I do not present myself to be a family law attorney. Further, if the purpose of the mediation is to present terms to the court as part of a full divorce decree, and neither of the parties are represented, I recommend they secure an attorney to scan the final agreement before parties present it to the court.**
I enjoy helping disputants articulate their thoughts with clarity and professionalism to work towards desired responses and outcomes. It is definitely a challenge that brings me satisfaction. Two things I believe: 1) Communication is extremely complicated, and 2) Most people wake up each morning with good intentions!
