Words can't explain how thankful we were to find Detrick Smith and his DS Lighting company for our wedding at the Nasher Sculpture Center. I spent roughly 10 hours researching rental and professional lighting companies who wanted to charge me thousands of dollars for minimal lighting, including hundreds of dollars in fees. It felt like as soon as they heard wedding and sculpture garden they wanted to squeeze as much money out of us as possible. Having never needed this type of lighting I figured I was stuck. Before giving up I thought I'd give Thumbtack a try to see if I could find a small business that could work within our budget. Detrick was a God-send! In addition to coming out for the initial estimate, he came out two additional times to ensure everything was ready for our big day. He even helped our florist who saw what Detrick was doing and wanted to bring in their own spotlighting for the tables. He went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined and was more focused on giving us the best lighting possible than trying to nickel and dime us. I had a million questions and he was patient in helping me understand what could be possible. It's hard to find great business owners like this and I'm always weary of those who have mission statements that they never live up to but I can tell you without out a doubt that Detrick lives out his mission (copied below) every day! If you hire him I promise you will not be disappointed! DS Lighting mission is to provide an excellent event lighting solution to our customers by incorporating Christian values of integrity, honesty, respect for each other, hard work, service, conscientiousness, cheerfulness, and friendliness. Where do I Begin!!! Detrick is Phenomenal to put it bluntly!! He was punctual, courteous, assiduous, remarkable and affordable. His lighting added a resplendent touch to our reception. We had a wonderful evening and Detrick made sure that he did not fall short of this goal. Detrick was a blessing in disguise and it was by sheer luck that I was able to lock in his services. Detrick communicated with me throughout the entire process and arrived 4 hours early to setup our beautiful night. Detrick, my wife and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
