Mitzi I was truly sorry to hear that your cake melted after being in your car for hours after pick-up. I wish that there was more time for me to prepare a substitution cake, but there was simply not. As I expressed to you previously this is the first time this has occurred in all my years of baking. To ensure this does not occur again I will be implementing a new packaging method.

Unfortunately I have to update my previous review. I’ve completed two different orders with this vendor. A birthday cake and then a wedding cake. Before the wedding I asked if we could change our order based on our RSVPs and get a refund. They said no refunds but I could have a credit. Which was fine until I tried to use the credit 10 months later. Then they decided to charge me a $50 change order fee, and no it was never communicated when the order was being negotiated or adjusted. At best this is a badly run business, at worst it’s dishonest and misleading. $50 isn’t an insignificant amount of money. If I had been told about a fee I would’ve kept the order as it was and embraced leftovers. It’s just wrong to invoke a fake fee almost a year later. They had my money and I was stuck - and they knew it. It doesn’t matter how good the cake tastes if you can’t trust who you’re working with.

I do apologize again for your unfortunate experience. I did communicate with you on multiple occasions that I was dealing with a life-and-death health issue and I was not able to fulfill an order to issue your credit when you wanted me to. I stopped baking completely and you were well aware. You said that you understood. As for the last-minute order change fee goes, you texted me days before your wedding and substantially decreased your order. You asked me to remove an entire tier of specialty cake and the groom's dessert altogether. The tools and ingredients for these had already been purchased, therefore making this a valid charge as I have explained to you. There was nothing dishonest about it. You have received your refund in cash, I wish you all the best.
