- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price bookkeeping services based upon number of transactions monthly - not on your company income.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For bookkeeping, I ask clients to add me to their quickbooks account as an accountant so that I can get go into qbo and see the volume of transactions that run through their business bank accounts and credit cards. Then I price their engagement according to a formula based on number of transactions and services requested. Once I've gotten idea of the scope of the engagement, I send an engagement letter that outlines what their monthly or quarterly services would include and what the estimated price is. For tax prep, i send a proposal with an estimated price to prepare their taxes, based upon our communications and my understanding of the scope of the engagement. 😀
