FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most diagnostic jobs are $75; I offer parts at my cost if needed. I offer discounts if you drop off the PC at my location in Hutto. If a customer is out of work or a student, I will fix their PC at very low cost. I can offer this as most of my revenue comes from corporate clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Learn what hardware and software the client owns; make suggestions to improve it or repair for a reasonable price. Note: With the new system requirements for Windows 11, you can take an older computer and run Linux on it using free Linux software (called a "distro") With a quad core processor (any Intel Core Series) and just 8GB of system memory you will have a machine that runs like new. I will offer this service for just $75 if you know someone that needs a functioning computer and does not want to spend $300 to $800 on a new Windows 11 PC.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Have CompTIA A+, and am constantly updating my knowledge by refurbishing PCs and testing software packages. In addition, I take online courses and have data on most major software if you require any how-to information. Have been trained in networking by ComPath, Inc, an early provider of broadband over cable services.
