I am an out of town real estate investor with properties all over Brazoria County. It has always been a struggle to find qualified and honest contractors locally. I usually have to bring in crews from the city who charge a premium, due to distance, and don’t even do a high quality job because they know that my options are limited. I had one such contractor recently perform a make ready for one of my rentals. Not only did he make a mess of my interior walls,painting them two distinctively different colors, he wanted me to pay him an additional $300 to fix the mistake he made. Frustrated, I joined Thumbtack and gave a local contractor, Douglas Alvarez, an opportunity to resolve the issues the previous contractor left. Douglas exceeded my expectations, he worked fast, did a thorough job, and offered fair pricing for the job. The project came out great and I am pleased with the result. I have a few more properties that need make readies and/or other work and I am excited to award Douglas the job based upon my recent experience with him. Thanks Douglas!!
