Introduction
I love to do portraiture, and I do it mainly from photos and occasionally from life. I also love to copy masterpieces of art. I work primarily in oil paint. I also draw, and I do portraiture sculpture in clay. I also do prints and etchings.
I think that clients love to see themselves dramatically but realistically rendered in a painting. I love to capture in painting the subject's special personality and characteristics.
I am also available for wedding sketches.

I have beloved art pieces created by Bruce for the Christmas season that are simply stunning in composition. Every time they are on display, my eyes are drawn to look not just "at them" but also "into them." The portraits on the website also demonstrate to me how rare Bruce''s talent isand how far his classical training and persistence have taken him. Well done!

I have known Bruce Durst for many, many years. He is a phenomenal artist and has an incredible eye. My favorite picture of all time is one taken by Bruce before he started his portrait painting. I would absolutely recommend him.

My husband and I are very pleased with the portrait of our precious Guido! Bruce captured Guidos personality; in fact, Bruce was careful to take several pictures ahead of time. We received the portrait in a timely manner. Now that we have retired to the Hill Country, we are especially happy to feature Guido in our DOG-themed guest bedroom.
