FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began my journey in the veterinary field in 2014-2020 El Paso Animal Emergency Clinic. I had advanced to the position of lead veterinary technician, where I was responsible for overseeing clinical operations and mentoring new staff. This initial role ignited my passion for animal care and led me to pursue further education in veterinary technology. I've worked diligently, gaining extensive hands-on experience and knowledge in various aspects of animal care. With 9 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician, I have developed a deep understanding of both routine and emergency animal care. This progression has solidified my commitment to providing the highest level of care for pets and their owners.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am particularly proud of my volunteer work with the Community And Pet Support (CAPS) at El Paso Animal Services, where I served from November 2023 to May 2024. During this six-month period, I dedicated my time to caring for abandoned and shelter animals, helping with their socialization, feeding, and daily exercise routines. This experience not only deepened my love for animals but also allowed me to develop essential skills in handling various breeds and temperaments. I worked closely with other volunteers and staff to implement enrichment activities that improved the animals’ well-being, making them more adoptable. I also assisted in organizing community outreach events to promote responsible pet ownership, which fostered a stronger bond between the community and the shelter. This project reinforced my commitment to animal welfare and enhanced my ability to adapt to different situations, which I bring into my pet sitting services.
