- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing consists of an hourly rate for two, three or four of our movers to complete your move, with a small trip fee assessed based on the mileage between your locations. We believe that customers have a tendency to be taken advantage of by this industry, which is why we have structured our pricing in such a transparent manner. While we recognize our hourly rate maybe higher than other companies, you can rest assured that we offer a straight-forward hourly rate and won't experience any hidden costs or fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We strive to set the standard for great communication within the moving industry. In order to book a move, we ask that you complete one of our Moving Inquiry Forms. This provides insight into the full details of your move which will help us determine how many movers you will need, what the minimum hourly charge will be and if there will be any trip fees associated with your move. Once we have reviewed the details of your move, we will provide you with an accurate, individualized quote, and can confirm your reservation at that time. We will also be communicative leading up to your move to go over any tips and recommendations to make sure your move goes smoothly and efficiently come moving day!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
We originally started this company following personal experiences with the moving industry in which we were exposed to hidden fees, poor communication and lackluster performance. We felt there was a better way to do business, which brought us to this industry. At The Dam Moving Company, it is our mission to be up front and honest about our pricing, and to minimize customer fees as much as possible. We avoid punishing the customer by not charging stair fees or equipment fees. Upon hiring us, you can feel confident that you will know exactly what charges will be expected upon completion, with no hidden surprises or up-charges.
