FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is simple. I work either hourly or project fee basis, always based upon the clients needs. I always present a Design Fee Contract as one portion, and a Purchasing Fee Contract as the second part. That way if the client is only wanting input and counsel, they can get that alone from us. If they choose to purchase the furnishings from our company, the Purchasing Fee Contract is transparent and easy to understand as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
CEU courses are key to any designer staying on point for their clients needs.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am asked by a referral from most of existing or past clients. Probably half of my projects are as a Project Manager working with the Client and their contractor or Architect. Many of my clients have a schedule that does not allow them to navigate the meetings with the contractor and subs. I step in for the client to help manage the details with the contractor or Architect. Another aspect I am often requested is to help client who are just starting with their new home to be their organizer. They are simply needing the designer to help them decide the steps needed to take in the design, from 1 to 10, what is first and how to proceed. Many times they simply need the right selections made, the right persons to install and the timeline to help them manage their budget and the time.
