FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, I have a standard pricing system, and I do not use any "foot-in-the-door" techniques that will end up costing you more once your feet are "in!" My rates are super competitive with others in the DFW area! In addition to my rates being on the lower end of the spectrum as compared to others with similar skills and experience--I also offer discounts, incentives and perks!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 27 years of combined training and experience. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Social Work, as my love for helping and giving to others is my first passion. Fortunately, my two passions blended beautifully into one, allowing me to live in my authentic happiness! My professional desire and goal is to help foster confidence, joy and love for dance in my students by empowering them socially, emotionally and spiritually through the art of social dance. I have trained with former National American Rhythm champion Fonzie Zapata from Corpus Christi, and received professional training to teach American Style Rhythm and Smooth ballroom dance from two local professional instructors. In addition, I participated in the "Dancing Classrooms" training curriculum with the Tarrant County Youth Collaboration. I have taught numerous group classes. In addition, I have been teaching private lessons in ballroom, swing, salsa and country as an independent instructor to individuals as well as couples for the last 11 years. I especially enjoy creating choreography that corresponds to a couple's music and lyrics for their wedding dance. Previous positions consist of teaching ballroom and salsa classes for the City of Bedford - Bedford Boys Ranch Activity Center and for the City of Euless- Euless Family Life Center. Dance achievements of mine include performing in several swing and broadway dance showcases for two years as a member of The Corpus Christi Jitterbugs swing dance team, as well as competing and placing in the top three of several novice improvisational swing dance competitions in the DFW area over the last nine years.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, where I took a social dance course in 1997 as an elective at the local community college I attended, and I have been passionate about partner dancing ever since! I have over 27 years of combined training and experience and an absolute passion for this dance style, so teaching it was the next obvious step!
