- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While Thumbtack necessitates we provide an hourly rate, we don't actually charge hourly. To provide upfront clarity and expectation-setting for our clients, we operate predominantly on a flat-fee structure. Fees vary per project scope and will be established with clients prior to signing the contract to work with us.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with a 30-minute, complimentary discovery call. This is where we get to know a bit more about your project and coach you on our design process. If it's a mutually good fit, we move to an on-site home review where we walk through all spaces in the home to determine the best way to integrate your newly designed space into the rest of the home while identifying phased areas of opportunities for the rest of your spaces. Once we align on the budget, we move to the contracting phase. After the contract is signed, we're off to the races, procuring the best quality furnishing and gathering installation bids. Upon the completion of this face, we move from dream state to reality as we begin the installation of your desired space(s). And then... we reveal and celebrate!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our founder has an undergraduate degree in Studio Art from Stanford University, an MBA from UC Berkeley and a profound portfolio of coursework from UCLA's Interior Architecture program.
