FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The majority of the work that I do is custom and only done once - I treat the pricing of projects the same way. You tell me what you want and what you’re hoping to spend, and I’ll give you options below your budget, within your budget, and above your budget to give you an idea of what your project might look like with different materials, construction methodologies, finishes, design, etc. For example, if you need a custom storage solution and are on a budget, I may recommend plywood with inexpensive construction grade materials, but I will also give you an idea of what it would cost if we used hardwood and premium hardware. Then, you can decide what works for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, is understanding your needs, timeline, budget and use case. I’ll make some suggestions and then request inspiration pictures you may already have collected, or I can share some of my own. Next is design - I will digitally render a design to share with you for you to provide feedback. During the back and forth I’ll provide multiple estimates based on materials, construction cost, etc, so we can stay within your budget. For example, if hardwood drawers put the project out of your budget, we can consider plywood drawers or eliminate them all together. Once the design and material choices are finalized, I’ll provide the final quote and request a down payment (the cost of materials, usually 25-40% of the total cost of the project). Construction and regular updates will follow, and we’ll coordinate delivery about 1 week prior to completion. Final payment will be collected prior to or upon delivery.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I’ve worked with home owners, corporate clients, and small business owners for both large furniture/built in installations and small personalized crafts and gifts.
