Hello! My name is Emma Ruth Castner.
I am the owner operator of Castner Coatings Wallpapering and Custom Fine Finishes.
The thing that makes me and my company stand out is experience and dedication to high quality work in every home or business - no matter the budget! I've done work for the rich and famous and the guy and gal next door.
As of June 18th, 2016, I have 30 years of experience in the art of Wallpaper installation. I have worked for clients in NYC, NJ, Boston, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Southern California, and Central Texas. I began my own business in 2003, and am now proud to call Austin TX my home.
I've worked with virtually every type of material, from basic wallpapers to fabrics, silk, grass, foil and vinyl. I also do commercial wall coverings.
Along with wallpapering comes my 30 years experience in painting and wall finishing. I specialize in interior house painting and fine finishes, such as cabinets and furniture. I have extensive experience with the methods of high quality glass-like spray finishes using oils, lacquers, stains, clear coats and water-base, as well as eco-friendly products.
Over my many years of working hands-on with clients and interior designers, I've acquired an ability to assist you with color choices, should you desire such input.
Other home-improvement skills include drywall repair, tape and float, smooth-coating and texturing, popcorn ceiling removal and wallpaper removal.

We hired Emma to install wallpaper on 2 walls in the nursery for our upcoming baby. The paper we found was a fairly intricate mural and it was pretty expensive, so I didn't want to risk putting it up poorly trying to do it myself.
Emma came over to give us an estimate and was prompt and professional. She was able to meet our budget on the nose and the work she does is nothing short of perfection. She's also very friendly and knowledgeable about her trade, because she's been doing only this for over 20 years. I can't stress enough how incredible our nursery looks!
There's no one else I'll ever call for any future wallpaper needs and you should give her a try as well. You won't be disappointed.

I hired Emma to do my wall paper/paint a few walls and he/she did an alright job with that. Then after I asked Emma if he/she can mount the standards on the wall for shelving he/she said " yeah I can do that" with such confidence. Emma had some random guy with her and they started on them and of course you need levelers and Emma had one but eve with a leveler it wasn't plum and it was literally at an angle that a shelf could not sit on. So we had to get a professional to come out and plum my walls and mind you she ruined my $2,000.00 wall paper and only gave me a $150.00 discount. I tried to get Emma to come to my store to redo them but Emma kept dodging two months later. I wouldn't recommend Emma to anyone after ruining my wall and dodging me.

The first time I met Emma I felt, somehow, she was the right person to hire for our Wallpaper jobs. Long story short, I was correct! Emma completed our projects today and we can't stop staring at the utmost perfection in her work! Further, unlike practically every other contractor we've experienced during our remodel, Emma was the first who actually cleaned everything up behind her when she finished! Full service professionalism with a side of respect! I/we will refer Emma and Castner Coatings to everyone we can!
