FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do my best to keep my prices competitive and fair based on my customers' needs. For example, if you have an old spinet that hasn't been tuned in over ten years, I will do my best to find a solution that won't cost you more than your piano is worth to return it to playing condition. I also offer military discounts of 5%. Please feel free to give me a call with information on your piano and we can find a solution that works best for your needs!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Any customer wanting information on working with me is encouraged to message on Thumbtack, email or call with any relevant information on your piano. You can find contact info here on my profile. I can walk you through applicable options for getting your piano tuned, repaired or regulated and schedule an appointment as necessary. Payments accepted at the appointment are check, cash, Venmo, PayPal. Credit cards are accepted with a 3% fee.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained at the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology and have been a working musician, sound engineer and composer since 2011. Currently, I am studying with New England Conservatory educator and jazz pianist Ran Blake based on his Primacy of the Ear approach to music and listening, as well as servicing his personal piano on a monthly basis. I have been tuning pianos full time for over six years and have tuned well over 2,000 pianos, ranging from academic institutions, churches, venues and personal pianos.
