We hired Barron Lawn Service (Thomas Barron) to mow our lawn because the reviews were good and he offered a good price. The following are the reasons I will never hire him again. 1) Did not show up to mow on the scheduled day and did not let me know he wouldn't I get it, I'm sure scheduling as a landscape contractor isn't easy, jobs can take longer than planned and people get bumped off the day's schedule. But a heads up that you're not going to be able to make it is always helpful. 2) Ripped a large hole in our fire pit cover and denied having done it (see photo and screenshots) At first glance the yard looked great so I sent Thomas the $60 for his services. However, soon after I noticed a large, horizontal slash at near ground level in our fire pit cover that obviously was the work of yard trimming equipment. I messaged Thomas asking if he could refund me $30 to cover the cost of a replacement. He told me that there was no way a weed eater could have tore a hole like that, which seemed odd given the size and nature of the slash and the fact that it was not there the previous day. After a discussion he told me he would just go buy another one for me at Home Depot. I'm not sure why he would want to go out of his way to hand-deliver me a new cover when he could take 2 minutes and Venmo me $30. Especially given the fact that he didn't know the size/brand/model or the fact that we got it on Amazon. I reiterated to him that a Venmo refund would be appreciated and the next day reminded him to send it over when he had a chance. (It's been two days without a response). 3) OBLITERATED one of my favorite cacti I had on our flagstone patio (see photo) The next day I went to go water one of my cacti and couldn't find it for some reason... I then noticed that there were black plastic shreds of the pot strewn all over the yard. It's not like the pot was just nicked by a stray weed eater blade, it was COMPLETELY chewed up. I messaged him IMMEDIATELY with a photo describing what happened and demanded that he refund me my $60. It's been more than 24 hours with still no response... After all this my wife and I realized that Barron Lawn Service was the EXACT same contractor we hired 10 months ago through Thumbtack to install/replace some edging on a flag stone patio we were building. After he installed the new edging around the patio he just left the old edging ripped up and half out of the ground (see photo). We contacted him multiple times to come back and finish the job but we never got a response. We ended up just removing it ourselves. On the Barron Lawn Service website it states "We take pride in the quality of our work as well as our commitment to deliver outstanding results." Nothing could be further from the truth.

Booked for a move out lawn mow to have it fresh for the new owners, needed it done the next day said he would do it. Went by the house at 6:30pm and it hadn’t been done so I contacted him. He said he couldn’t do it and would come the next day- too late, new owners would be moving. Never contacted me or let me know- if I hadn’t contacted him it would have been a no show. Should have read all reviews, seems to have an issue with this. Don’t use him, unreliable.
