Thom is the one of the most knowledgeable musicians I’ve met, and his lessons surprised me each visit. He adjusts the pace of the lesson based on my previous guitar skills; Also remaining patient and communicating tricks, tips and music theory to help better understand why and how the guitar works. He’s also an easy guy to talk to, and I would definitely recommend him as a top notch guitar teacher.

Jakes a great teacher. Very patient and encouraging. I had a little knowledge of the guitar before I started taking lessons, and Jake has, in just four lessons, increased my ability significantly. I really look forward to my lessons each week. Has helped me with finger picking, flat picking, practice techniques, and reading tabs.

Jake is an excellent teacher and just a cool dude. After several years of "playing" guitar with no training, I started getting frustrated with the lack of progress and decided to take lessons and I'm glad I went with Jake. He's very keen in gearing the lessons to meet the student's particular goals which is exactly what I needed. I've made more progress with these lessons in couple of months than I did in years on my own and more importantly it's been a lot of fun.

I started playing ukulele a few years ago and took lessons with a teacher that were, sadly, unfulfilling and unmotivating. I gave up on lessons until I decided to finally pick up guitar and try again to move forward with more lessons and strengthen my music theory base. Trevor has made learning the guitar a worthwhile investment that is absolutely paying off. Suddenly things make so much more sense musically, and I’m excited to practice at home and prepare to come back to my next lesson with new things to show him and new questions to ask. Trevor has been a delight as a teacher. He’s patient, understanding, funny, and willing to try more than a few angles to find out what excites his students and drives them to be better musicians than they were when they entered the room. I never dread a lesson with him, and I’m always just a little bummed when they’re finally over!

I had never even touched a guitar until I started taking lessons with Chris. He immediately put me at ease with his upbeat demeanor and incredible patience. Chris is highly knowledgable and his lessons gracefully build on top of each other as you progress. Jake is definitely the most skilled guitar teacher I've had and overall a great guy. He can do any genre of music you throw at him any style. He creates a lesson plan based around your goals and does everything step by step without overwhelming you with loads of information. I would highly recommend his services.

Christopher is a great musician. His knowledge in music theory is simply outstanding, and his skill with the guitar is fascinating. Sometimes you've to just stay back, and wonder in amazement how beautifully his fingers traverse the fretboard at an amazing speed while being consistently accurate.
He is also a fantastic teacher: always patient with students who doesn't quite have his tenacity with the instrument yet (like me, haha). He tries to figure out what your need is and how to achieve them accordingly. Another good thing is that, besides the scheduled lessons, he is reachable via emails and phones too if you're having any problem with a particular thing. He has also been very accommodating with the dates: whenever I had to make a sudden change to my scheduled lesson due to emergency, he gladly fixed another convenient date and time for me.
All in all, you can't go wrong with Christopher as far as guitar lessons go. I highly recommend him as the go to person regardless of your skill level.

We had planned to do weekly lessons but cancelled after one. The owner was very pushy about trying to get me to pre-pay for lessons that we didn’t have yet even though I said I wasn’t comfortable doing that. Overall I feel that the music school we went to previously was more professional. My son also said that the owner was impatient and didn’t seem well versed in playing the guitar because chords that he taught for a song were wrong and my 11 year old was able to identify they were wrong just by the sound.

Chris is a wonderful guitar teacher. I hadn't picked up my guitar for years and was itching to get back into playing. I found Chris on Thumbtack and that same day was set up with my first lesson later in the week. I love how Chris asked me to come up with a list of my favorite songs I wanted to learn how to play. He's a talented musician himself and it's great to feel like I'm just scratching the surface of his musical knowledge, even though I'm not a beginner. Very patient guy, which is great when I'm fumbling through a more challenging song. Highly recommend Chris for beginners and more advanced players alike. Cool guy.

I'm 42 and learning guitar after a lifetime of trying to pick things up here and there. I've only had 4 lessons with Chris but I'm already seeing results with Chris's coaching. He's uber organized and always prepared with my tabs. The 30 minutes is focused start to finish. I feel like its a class with structure, and a goal. I also appreciate he has a dedicated teaching space in his home so setup is snap.

Ive been studying with Chris for about 10 months and Im very happy with the progress Ive made. I decided to pick up the guitar a couple of years ago when I was working in Omaha. I took lessons for about a year and I learned the basics but I also picked up some bad habits. I took a job in Austin and after being here for 6 months I wanted to get started again. I found Chris on Thumbtack and Im glad I did. Chris tailors the lesson to what Im trying to accomplish instead of using a set routine for every student. Im 53 and my musical tastes and goals are different from his younger students. He also understands how I learn and gives me the right amount each week to challenge me but not frustrate me. I work and travel a lot so my practice time is limited some weeks. Even with the lack of time to devote to the guitar, Ive made tremendous progress in the months Ive been studying with Chris. I would recommend him to anyone who is serious about learning the guitar, either a beginner like me or a more advanced person looking to improve.

I took lessons with Trevor for about 4-5 months. I was basically a complete beginner when I started taking lessons. In that time I really learned how to slow things down and practice methodically/efficiently. Trevor is a pretty clean and technique oriented player and he does a great job at breaking down those concepts. He won't ever teach you anything you don't want to learn and he'll go as far into theory as you wanna go. I definitely recommend him as he is well rounded musician and has knowledge on a lot of genres. Not to mention he is very easy going and always answers any guitar, gear or music related questions with a lot of depth.
