- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have an initial appt and I gather every piece of info I can. Research begins - Then appt number 2 might be a phone call or in person for more info then about 3-5 days I have a completed quote from there my average appts are about 6-9 visits for an entire wedding where we meet in person -- I really get to know the client and there families The large wedding I just finished in Dallas was about 12 visits 2 were to Dallas to look over Church and reception and meet all other vendors --- they are my friends and like family now -- I knew her vision well and she her mother her husband her in laws the reception 69th floor City Club had nothing but fabulous compliments for me even the wedding planner said my communication was impeccable and my designs were sooooo Meredith , the Bride!!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am 100% home grown on my own and from my 50 years of sewing and creating thousands of types of designs it is what has furthered me into my 18 year flower/decorating business The last wedding I did downtown Dallas Texas 325 guests with a flower bill of almost $10,000 It was an honor to do this wedding - I was told dallas florists wanted $15,000 -$22,000 I am in Austin tx and travel anywhere because I love my business and love my brides!!!!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Started with homecoming mums in 1995 in lakeway Tx I did $8000 of mums out of my home and that's when my husband said you have a talent you should pursue and you love creating. Austin American statesman did a writeup complimenting my glorious designs that they represented each customer and showed their personality through every mum.
