FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a flat fee for base services. Services performed above those base services incur additional fees and you have the choice to decline those services before they're performed. It's not uncommon for the flat fee to cover the entire cost of representation, but it certainly happens that additional services become necessary at times too. I accept payment plans for Chapter 7s as long as you agree to set up autopay. If the payment doesn't go through and you don't provide updated information then work stops until the problem is solved. Chapter 13 clients, on the other hand, pay me as part of their Chapter 13 Plan. I understand that clients come to me in financially difficult situations, so I recommend talking to me about payment during our initial consultation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We usually begin with a brief 10 to 15 minute phone call to discuss the basics of your situation and schedule a free initial consultation. At the initial consultation we discuss your situation in more detail and review strategy and options (this consult lasts 30 to 60 minutes). After the initial consultation you decide if you want to hire us, and if you do then you sign a contract, arrange for payment, and complete our new client questionnaire. Once those items are completed you'll have another meeting with me to go over every detail of your situation so we can prepare your bankruptcy (this meeting lasts about 90 minutes).
