Introduction

I started dancing at 4 years old. I attended Booker T. Washington High School for the performing and visual arts. I discovered ballroom and latin dance shortly after graduation and knew immediately it was for me. I have been teaching competitive and social dance now for 30 years. I am certified through my master's level in ballroom, Latin and CW dance. Throughout my career I have had the privilege of competing and teaching students from beginner level to advanced. I also love working with couples wanting to learn social dance for fun. In addition, I enjoy working with couples who are getting married and looking for that special wedding dance. What I truly love about teaching is figuring out unique ways in which each student learns best. I love watching my students grow in their confidence on the floor and believe that anyone can learn to dance with the right instructor. Rate is $60 per hour. Certifications: Master in DVIDA in Smooth, Rhythm and International Styles.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Dance Instruction - $50 per hour in your home or location, $70 per hour in my studio (Cost includes studio floor fee).
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first assess their needs and goals. I spend the first lesson showing them some basic steps and getting a feel of how they learn, etc. We spend time talking about how much time and money they would like to invest and we plan their lessons accordingly. I have never had a student leave my lesson feeling like they didn't learn something valuable. I believe strongly that with the right instruction, anyone can learn to dance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a dance teacher for 30 years. I have certifications up to my masters level in all competitive and social dances through DVIDA. I am also registered with the NDCA. References are available upon request.
