In November of 2020, the unthinkable happened. I was arrested for a DWI. Never in my life had I had any issues with the law. I was always a straight-laced, straight-A student. I spent the weekend in jail and was terrified. When I was finally released in the early hours of a Sunday morning, I was scared, disoriented, tired, and beaten down. The first thing I knew to do was secure an attorney, but how was I to afford one? I never needed an attorney before, and I had barely just started a new job that allowed me any extra income. I searched for “affordable attorney” on Google, and Thumbtack came back with Mr. Lim. I immediately sent a request to connect with him. I remember feeling so hungry and cold and just wanting a meal and a shower.
That same day, after a long nap, I received a phone call. Mr. Lim was so kind, warm, and funny. I was immediately put at ease with my situation. I explained what happened and he seemed confident and sure that he could get me taken care of. I remember being so distraught and disoriented, but still laughing at a story he told me. But the most important part for me was that he allowed me to enter into a payment plan with him. It really pained me to have an extra monthly expense, but the fact he was flexible and understanding made me realize I had made a good choice.
My case dragged on for almost two years due to the pandemic. It was a painful, excruciating, and scary time for me. Mr. Lim was communicative and patient with my questions and concerns. We went months without contact, simply because there was nothing to report. It was unnerving, but I knew I was in good hands. We periodically communicated with instructions for actions for me to take. I dropped everything when I heard from Mr. Lim, so I recommend that you work as hard as he does in your case!
When things started accelerating forward, Mr. Lim was professional, direct and knowledgeable. I definitely felt silly with some of my questions and concerns, but he always responded promptly and thoroughly.
While my case is not indicative of what may happen with you, I do want to share that my DWI charge was dropped down to speeding. Mr. Lim works hard and gets the job done. He will advocate for and support you as long as you are doing what he asks and also taking your case personally, honestly, and seriously. You will need to do work on your end if you expect him to work hard for you. It is definitely a two-way road.
I cannot express enough my appreciation and gratitude for Mr. Lim. I understand he’s not part of one of the big organizations and you might have to search a bit to find him but trust me; he’s your guy. Affordable, understanding, kind, and experienced. Thank you Mr. Lim!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from The University of Texas School of Law, which is the highest-ranked law school in Texas and is a tier-1 law school in the United States. During my time there, I scored in the top 5% in my first-year criminal law class and received the highest grade in the class in my federal criminal law class.
Prior to law school, I worked at Hewlett-Packard.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Shortly after earning my law license, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to second-chair a felony jury trial. I jumped at the chance and really liked the experience. Eleven months later, I decided to start my own practice.
