HOW CAN I HELP YOU? • by providing objective advice in helping each student find the best college fit for their individual needs. • By providing a timeline for the road to the application process. • Helping each student with every phase of the application process. • assisting students as they "drive" the college search, selection, and application process, in doing so, they learn important life skills: taking responsibility, making important decisions, and how to present themselves in a positive, impressive manner to those around them. • by exploring the learning styles, aptitudes, and interests of the student and finding ways to make the student stand out. • by suggesting programs and/or strategies for special needs and/or standardized testing. • providing an objective opinion in educational decision making. • researching College Programs, Majors, and Careers with your student • personalized attention and support for your student (and for you!) • professional tools and assessments that assist in organizing and bringing vital information into the college search process. Why do you need a college admissions advisor? College isn’t the same as when you applied! Colleges grow more competitive every year! Highly selective college acceptance rates are in the single digits, and many colleges are in the 10-30 percent range. It is harder than ever to “stand out” to colleges. The process of applying to schools is stressful. Keeping track of everything, not knowing if what you’re doing is right, feeling like you’re nagging or being nagged—it’s a recipe for disaster even in the most harmonious families. The best college consultants help to eliminate the anxiety. They manage timelines and school lists, suggest extracurriculars, review courses, provide feedback on essays, help prep for interviews, and generally make sure students are on the right path. This not only ensures students put their best foot forward in their applications, but also minimizes the stress that too often accompanies the process. You and your child are busy enough without also having to create and maintain college lists, figure out the essay requirements at each school, plan campus visits, and submit standardized test scores. Really, it’s a full-time job—so why not entrust it to someone who does it full-time?
