FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All of my clients receive an initial assessment that allows me to identify any issues that need addressing as well as telling me exactly where each person is at physically. I do not hand out blanket workouts because each person is an unique individual and should be trained in such a way.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Outside of the personal training certification from ACE and the qualifications from other training sessions with TRX and LesMills, I spend at least 5 hours a week on continuing education through several online courses, videos, webinars, and other venues. I also have over 12 years of "on-the-job" training that ranges from power lifting training to long distance cycling.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I made the decision to join a gym when I was 31. My children were both in school, I was a stay-at-home mom with nothing to do and carrying around a lot of extra "I quit smoking and took up eating" weight that was making me miserable. In just a few short months time I was working the front desk full time. The gym became my second home, literally. Fitness became my life, literally. Although it would take me several years, I knew from the beginning that personal training and fitness was going to consume the rest of my life. It's my passion. It's what I love.
