FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet the client and have a conversation with them to understand what their motives are with any project. I like to know the why behind the why so we can try and better meet the expectations. Then I try to educate my clients about what they are buying and what types of products might be best suited for their needs. I’ve never been pushy or overbearing in my approach to win a job and I believe that’s the way it should be. I would rather help you to get what you want than to sell you something you don’t need.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve always had a passion for working with my hands and treating people with dignity and respect. In a day and age where so many people are looking for an easy way out I found joy in putting in the sweat equity to build something and feeling the reward when a job is complete and you can stand back and appreciate the efforts that went into the completed product. Over time I’ve tried to find team members that approach their lives the same way. By being selective about who we hire and those that we entrust to take care of our clients homes we’ve built a winning culture that prides itself on showing up when we say we will, being communicative with our clients and bringing back a civilized approach to home improvement.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One of jobs I take pride in would probably be one of our most recent. We were approached by a client who had been taken advantage of by a dishonest contractor. He took her money, started work and shortly there after left her with nothing but a few pieces of lumber strung together that they called a deck. We entered the picture and quoted to finish the deck correctly, order a sliding door to fit her opening and cutout a window from her dining room/kitchen to allow them access and full use of their back yard. It wasn’t till work began that I fully appreciated the horror that the customer experienced when dealing with the previous contractor. But we were able to help this client realize their dream for their home and the emotions written on their faces upon the job completion was the most rewarding part of the job. To see the end of a saga that left them feeling helpless and vulnerable and know that they would be able to enjoy their home the way they had envisioned was truly amazing.
