FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have found that this is a luxury and also an art. I try to work within budgets. Generally, I charge by the hour but can also get quite a bit done in 30 minutes if that is all a person can afford. It will be a difficult 30 minutes but only because I am so result oriented. $75/hour is my usual fee, but I have many package deals that can bring it down to about $65. There is no gym fee because I have a gym at my home that is fairly well equipped.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do is evaluate them. I take their weight and their measurements. I ask many questions about health, medications, and family history. I discuss goals. I ask about exercise experience and tolerance for soreness. I try to put myself in their shoes and get to know them as quickly as possible so I can help them beginning with the first session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been ACE certified since 1994. I take continuing education classes yearly. I read new information that comes out weekly. I have trained at least 500 people in the course of my 23 year personal training career. It is the only job I have and I do it full time.
