FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My training is done in a program I call the "Series". The cost is predicated on certain variables: 1) How often do you want to work with a trainer (1, 2, or 3 times per week)? NOTE: The more you train/the bigger the training package, the more the rate gets discounted. 2) Where the training takes place. Will you be coming to my facility? Or are you looking for a trainer to come to you? NOTE: The best rates are seen when someone comes to my facility to train.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Step 1: Sit down consultation in which we discuss where the client is presently in their fitness, where they want to go with it, and I lay out the path I would use to get them there. This initial meeting provides a lot of the answers that help create a program tailored to the client's goals, current fitness level, capabilities, available schedule, etc. It also allows some time to create report with each other :) Step 2: The FREE Trial Workout. This is actually Part 2 of the assessment process. For the potential client, it gives them a feel for what working with me is like. For me, I get to see the individual in action...see where there are strengths, weaknesses, imbalances, etc. This is the final piece of the information puzzle that hones in on perfecting the design of the individual's program. If after these first 2 parts, we both decide we are a good fit to work together... Step 3: Set up an on-going schedule. Most of my packages are set up in 4-week blocks, which is considered one training phase. For those that need it, we can also schedule our sessions together on a week-to-week basis. One thing worth noting...I do NOT do contracts or lock anyone long term. I only want people that love the work we do together and are committed to our training to stay. And they can be a client for as short or as long as they like. I've had a couple people in my 20+ year career that have only done one training package and went off on their own. I've had quite a few clients that have been with me for over 10 years. After getting results, feeling the energy of each session, and getting the variety of a new training phase each month, I would say that the average clients stays on for 1-2 years.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Although I was at the top of my class at Springfield College for Health/Fitness and although I am certified through a top nationally recognized organization (I have many specialized certifications, as well), I can honestly say that the bulk of usable information that I have learned has been through my own studies, researching out information, and 20+ years of in-the-trenches work experience. In my first 5-10 years as a personal trainer, I remember thinking how smart I was...how I knew so much. But as I look back over my full career, I can see that there wasn't a time when I ever stopped learning. And exercise science keep evolving!!! The more the science of fitness keeps evolving, the more I will continue to learn. In fact, one of my daily personal goals is to learn something new. My continuing education NEVER stops. Never gets stale...Never goes stagnant.
