FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was teaching high school math in Louisville, KY. It was the first day of the summer vacation when Becky's cousin called from Birmingham, AL. He was VP of Sales and Marketing of a huge fence manufacturer in Bessemer, AL. He asked me if I was interested in moving to Tennessee and being General Manager of a new distribution center. I will tell you I loved every minute of teaching but just did not make much money. So, after some discussion and prayer, I accepted the opportunity, went back to the school and cleaned out my desk. It was a bitter sweet day.
- What types of customers have you worked with?

- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure to demand to see proof of home improvement license and proof of insurance before the work begins. If the contractor does not have insurance, then the land owners homeowners insurance policy is liable. Also, demand a waiver of lien before final payment is made. In most states, the homeowner is subject to a materialmans lien if the fence contractor does not pay for the materials. In other words, if the homeowner pays the fence contractor and the contractor does not pay the supplier, then the supplier can possible demand payment from the homeowner by filing a lien on the property. Also, demand a waiver of lien for labor as the same situation may occur with the labor.
