Introduction
Hello! I currently teach at the School of Rock in Nashville and am now offering online and in person, 30 or 60 minute lessons from my studio. I have over 20 years of experience instructing students from all backgrounds and skill levels ranging in age from 5 to 65 . I pride myself on catering the lesson to suit each aspiring drummer’s individualized interests and am passionate about helping people to achieve their goals while guiding them to develop their own personality on the drums.
Offering instruction in rock, funk, country, traditional and westernized Latin rhythms, jazz comping, syncopation,learning how to read notation, 3 and 4 limb independence exercises, and technique with a strong emphasis on gaining versatility.
I was a performance major with a minor in jazz studies at Berklee College of Music and I perform with Grammy nominated artist Jamie Floyd.

Scott is a total pro. A very talented drummer and equally talented teacher. He is an effective communicator, explaining theory and technique while demonstrating lessons slowly at first using music familiar to me. Been with him several months, and I plan to stay with him a lot longer. He teaches foundational skills which I have been able to build on when not in session with him. He gives me tips and tricks to keep sharp when I cannot practice, teaches active listening which has opened up so many songs to me and helped me figure out the drum parts. I cannot say enough good or positive things about Scott and his methods. I'm a lawyer by trade, and he reminds me of some of my best law professors and college professors, loving what he does and enthusiastically passing on his knowledge and expertise. He can teach songs for sure, but learn from Scott and you'll learn how to play drums and to teach yourself how to play songs. Very grateful to him and having a blast learning.
