I began my journey as a singer a long time ago and I stopped years later because I couldn’t find a teacher (several in Europe and even famous ones) that was able to solidify my coloratura opera voice (specially in my medium voice). So I stopped for years. When I decided to go back to singing, I met Ashley. I am French so I may be not able to describe it very well but Ashley understood from the beginning what I went through and how to fix my technical problem. With patience and adaptation, we started our journey to reshaping my voice. Ashley has an huge and deepest knowledge about singing but above all she has this amazing sensitivity that enables her to feel the exact thing that your voice needs, how and when and to explain it perfectly. She taylors the exercices to your voice and has a perfect clear view of your needs. I can’t say how amazing I find her toughfullness, her technical understanding of the voice and her smartness when talking about it. My voice has now found a new strength, a clear understanding and sensation of what has to be done. A confidence. I wish I could have met her before because It would have changed my musical path and probably my life as I wanted to be a professional singer. Ashley possesses everything to teach at a professional level with clairvoyance, empathy and deep intelligence. Nathalie L-F

Ashley is terrific! She has been pivotal in developing my daughter’s vocal skills. With Ashley’s leadership, my daughter went from an absolute beginner in 6th grade to landing the lead role in her high school musical as a sophomore. Ashley educates her students about vocal mechanics, technique and health, as well as the artistry & emotion of singing. She is the tops; any student would be fortunate to work with her — a musician’s musician!

I studied on-and-off with Ashley for 2 years (2022, 2023) I started as an adult with little experience singing outside of in my car or at home for fun. At the same time I was studying jazz piano. Ashley is exceptionally talented, as a vocalist and as a teacher. She's a true student of the voice as an instrument and inspiring to learn from as she's always learning. Ashley worked to identify and build all of the missing pieces. Learning your instrument (i.e. voice) is a process and I've learned that it is unique for everyone. Not everything develops at the same pace either. This is where Ashley's patience shined through. Patience but also pushing and calling you out if you're mailing it in. She always shows up prepared. Ashley built up everything with me — breathing, resonating, singing on pitch, opening up my voice. If you're an aspiring singer then one thing I think Ashley can help you do that was mindblowing to me was "find your sound" — meaning to really hear what your true voice sounds like. I didn't realize how affected we are by all of the music we've listened to and how it manipulates the way we create (or manipulate the creation) of our own sound. It takes a while to get there. Listening back to the several dozens of sessions I've recorded, 2 years later, I'm still learning from things I could understand logically but not conceptualize and apply in my instrument. Those sessions are invaluable and will be insightful for years to come. Lastly, I really value Ashley's classical approach and pedigree. Developing your instrument that way really helps you develop it maximally, and it makes singing contemporary or jazz music much easier. Learning some songs from music manuscript (rehearsed sigh-reading) is something I've heard many teachers don't do. But there are so many benefits, from accuracy, to embedding true note durations, to actually having to create your natural sound for a song. I'm blessed to have worked with Ashley, can't recommend her enough. Ashley, thank you for pouring your gift into mine!
