John was a pleasure to deal with. He was able to give me a quote on removing a very large fig tree from my back yard the same day I requested the job on Thumbtack. The next morning he had the tree cut down and hauled off before noon. I highly recommend him for any future landscaping project you may have!

John did a variety of work for us. We needed to have trees and shrubs trimmed, a tree transplanted, some trees removed, flower beds defined, fertilized and mulched, and the lawn treated for weeds and fertilized. At a later date, we will have him come back to treat the yard for grubs (mole problem) and aerate and seed. John is very knowledgeable, and I totally trust his advice. We have been very happy with his work.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet new customers at their home and walk around the property so they can point out the areas they would like to see improved and to get a general idea about what the client wants from their landscape.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up around plants and learning to nurture them. From middle-school science experiments to seeking out garden oddities these days, horticulture has always been a part of my life.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What do I want from my landscape? (A place for kids to play, a quiet private place in the evenings, a place for family cook-outs, etc.) What I have I seen around town or on the internet that I really like? (I can develop a good idea of whats possible with a few example on the types of plants/items/features that you enjoy)
