FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $60 an hr for studio time (For the first three hours. $40 an hr for any additional time after that). That includes me engineering, producing, editing, mixing, color grading, etc. during that time (mic shootouts are free and included with every session). I also have a $350 day rate if someone wants to book the whole day. I work in 8 hour blocks, and that can be manipulated based on the customers schedule. For mixing, I typically charge $150-$750 a song and offer 3 mix revisions. It usually depends on track count, duration, and needs (this does not include editing, tuning, etc). I also do production deals for entire songs, albums, EP's, and music videos. Contact me to set up a pre-production meeting to discuss pricing for your project. I have mastering deals as well that start at $50 per song. Every session, you'll be recorded through the best outboard gear and mics money can buy. Among those mics are the famed u47, C-12, AKG 414, and vintage Shure SM7. I have tons of other mics, all of which are high caliber. **I require a deposit of half down upon start of project and the remainder due when deliverables are ready. Those who intend to hire me as their producer will be required to sign a producer agreement in which the entirety of our business is clearly stated and any credits or royalties are outlined. **Please DO NOT bring someone to the session or pre-production meeting without clearing beforehand. The studio is located at my home, and I reserve the right to screen each and everyone who intends to be here. People who do not adhere to this will be refused for any and all future business**
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At first I usually meet with them to discuss their vision. This is what I consider the playdoh phase where everything's important, but nothing really matters in terms of where it's currently at. Once we conceptualize their project, I plan out studio time based on the song(s) needs. If track building is necessary, I would typically have all that done prior to the artist arriving for vocals, performance, etc. Once we're tracked, I edit everything, do all vocal production, and mix the track. From their the customer can hire me to master their track or take any one of the phenomenal recommendations I have to fulfill that service. All projects are based on the customers needs, budget, and desired outcome.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in audio engineering, I'm pro tools certified, I have expert level knowledge in logic, I'm degreed in two other fields including biomedical engineering, and I worked for the number one producer of country music in Nashville straight out of school. To say I'm serious about what I do is an understatement.
