FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Standard pricing for design services is done by an hourly rate, with no additional fees for my travel time. When I give a proposal to a client all costs for the design project are listed upfront ensuring that there is no confusion or hidden fees. As an added benefit to my clients, I have access to a wide range of materials, items and products at discounted prices which are typically not so easily available to the general public. Extra resources and discounts passed to my clients means cost savings and a finished design that is precisely as they wished.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each client I work with has different design needs, so usually I will speak to them via phone to get an idea of what they are trying to accomplish in their home or commercial space. I'll also suggest that they gather photos from Pinterest, Houzz or other online sources that they can identify with. A no cost, complimentary consultation appointment is then scheduled to go over the room or spaces they wish to design or update. Along with going over a "Client Questionnaire” I will ask additional questions like, “What do you love and dislike about this space?” or “Are there any special needs that should be considered?” A proposal is then emailed or given to the client listing my services that will achieve their desired results. I'm able to manage a client's design project with them personally or with general contractors from start to finish ensuring complete satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Along with having my own business for over 20 years, I have also had the opportunity of giving interior decorating and design seminars to other designers in high-end showrooms that needed guidance on how to present and navigate through interior home designs with their clients. It's one thing to get a degree in interior decorating and design, but a designer needs to know how to relate to each individual client, with listening to them and seeing the design style and concept through their eyes. As an interior decorator and designer, it's my responsibility to bring my client's vison to life.
