FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer both piano tunings and piano lessons. Rates will range between $199-$299 depending on whether or not I need to do a pitch raise. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to send you a quote. My rates for piano lessons are as follows: $40 per 30 mins $55 per 45 mins $75 per 60 mins My students perform in recitals at least twice a year. I also offer group classes (free of charge) once a month.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
What we would want to do is to make sure your piano holds tune. When I first arrive at a clients' home, I would test out a few keys before I start servicing your instrument to make sure it's worth tuning. Once I make sure your piano will hold tune, I start tuning from the lowest note and go all the way up to the highest note. I usually like to play a few pieces once I am done with the instrument to double check my work and make sure everything sounds great, so if you listen to music, that's when I am almost finished. Finally, I would go over a few strings and corrections again if need be and put everything back to where it was before.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, two Master's Degrees from Carnegie Mellon University with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Maintenance, and an Artist Diploma from Duquesne University.
