FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have 2 board and train options: 14 days(with 2 lessons) for $1900 and 21 days(with 3 lessons) for $2900. private lessons are $100/lesson. each lesson is an hour long
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s of science in animal science from Penn State. I also compete in sports with my dogs. I compete in an internationally recognized sport with a set of criteria in which each exercise is scored individually. Not only am I then competing against myself, I am competing against other trainers/people from around the country. I am also competing against my dog's genetic desire to go and bite the decoy. This sport is called Mondioring. For videos of me competing, you can search my business (Taylor'd Dog Services) on YouTube. No, I am not expecting all my clients to want to go out and compete in any type of sport. Competing is the best way I believe to test not only my training techniques but my relationship with my dog. Whenever you are competing, there are no leashes or collars on your dog. You are not allowed any treats or toys either. This is a true test to your dog's ability to focus on you during a 15-45 minute competition. This level of precision and relationship is what I strive for all my clients to have with their dog(s).
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
when looking for a trainer, you should look at what that trainer does with their own dogs. Does that trainer have well behaved dogs? does that trainer do any activities that challenge their training methods? Are you comfortable with the training methods that trainer uses? Is the training style sustainable for you as the owner?
