FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe that everyone should have access to yoga so a sliding-scale is available. Please let me know if pricing is an issue for you and I am confident we can work something equitable out. This is also why I offer video classes so that we can practice yoga even if you are geographically far or have a very busy schedule. PLEASE NOTE: there is a 12-hour cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment cost (if the session is cancelled within 12 hours of the appointment time). I will waive this once in the case of an emergency, as I understand that life does happen. Please understand that I rely upon teaching as my main source of income and this 50% covers the cost of travel and reserving space and the income I could have made booking another client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Yoga literally means 'to connect'. Your practice is about connecting to your entire self in a deeper way. I always begin working with a new client by asking them what brought them to this practice, discussing goals for their physical, mental, and emotional health. From there, I build class sequences based on the student's needs and abilities, including therapeutic myofascial release exercises with tennis balls. I also weave in pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Yoga Nidra, singing bowl meditations, and mindfulness exercises when appropriate or if the student is interested the learning more about the possible benefits of these practices. I always explain exactly what we are doing and why - yoga is experiential learning, not based on blind faith - I want students to try things out and see for themselves whether they find it effective or not!
