- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My painting service total estimate is based on how many hours I believe it will take to complete the project, plus a few varying factors, which include: • Location/size/ and scope • Type of job (interior versus exterior). • Painter's experience. Thumbtack for 3yrs. Professionally painting for 26 years. • Season (Exterior painting is preferred in late March to October. Estimates are always free; large or small. To give a reasonable and fair accurate quote of your painting project(s) I need to meet the customer in person to do a schedule walk-through.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For starters, I make sure that me and the customer are on the same page when it comes to the expectation of the job. Making sure I have a solid understanding of the project. What are the customer's specific goals and outcomes, and will they give me a fair evaluation. Agreeing on a work schedule with the customer. A start date, and when does the customer need to know you're accepting the project. Discuss salary and terms of payment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am well-versed with different types of available paints and their uses. Profound knowledge of using sealers and primers to edge on painting jobs. Competent in operating painting equipment such as power washers and scrapers. Solid background in using wire brushes, sanders and rollers in an efficient manner. Demonstrated ability to differentiate between the need to use rollers, brushes or spray paints in accordance with the needs of the project. Creative skills aimed at using texturing tools to make designs and textures on walls and roofs. Deep understanding of using different types of paints and tools for interior and exterior of houses. Physical dexterity targeted at handling painting work that requires strength and agility such as climbing ladders and good sense of balance. Exceptional attention to detail aimed at ensuring that just the right amount of paint is used and no uneven finishes are visible. Customer service: able to make sure that customers are satisfied properly by providing them with exactly what they are looking for. Excellent communication skills aimed at understanding project needs and ensuring they are met. Ability to handle both the planning and prep work phases in a time efficient manner. Familiar with popular painting trends and competition providing the same type of services. Capable of handling painting jobs with self-direction and self-management. Mathematical acumen aimed at calculating paint job estimates for customers.
