Hey my name is Andrew, and I have been teaching and performing for over 10 years! I am currently offering both virtual music lessons and in-person lessons in/around the Philadelphia area. My love of music and songwriting started in middle school, and has taken me across continents in my quest to spread the joy of learning and creating music. After years of piano and trombone lessons in elementary school, I fell in love with the guitar and studied both jazz guitar and orchestral trombone throughout high school. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Wesleyan University before taking a teaching opportunity to devise and teach a songwriting class to high schoolers entitled “In My Own Voice” in South Africa! Upon returning to the states, I joined the K-8th grade Alexandria Country Day School in Virginia and led their chorus program as well as the band ensemble and the junior high symphonic orchestra. I pride myself on giving my students agency in choosing their material and guiding their learning to allow them creative control. These days, I am the front man for my band, FeelFree, which recently won best reggae album at Washington DC’s Wammy Awards and performs about 70 shows a year. I have three albums out on all digital streaming services like Spotify/Apple Music with over 10k active monthly listeners. When I’m not songwriting, teaching or performing, I enjoy cooking and challenging others to funny-face competitions. I am currently offering piano, guitar, trombone, and songwriting/composition lessons.
