FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The quoted price you see on Thumbtack is per lesson, but I offer discounted packages if purchasing a month of lessons or three months of lessons!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process begins with establishing an open avenue of communication with all my students! That ensures that I can gauge their musical interests, their past musical experiences, what their musical goals are, and what type of music they hope to be creating/playing!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Music from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, I studied under renowned jazz musicians Jay Hoggard and Anthony Braxton there. Upon graduating, I was hired as a musician-in-resident at a prestigious South African boarding school Lebone II - College of the Royal Bafokeng where I taught students a songwriting and creative writing course entitled "In My Voice". Upon completing my residency in South Africa, I returned to the Washington DC area to tour with my band FeelFree. When not touring, I was the symphonic and jazz band leader at a K-8th grade school in Alexandria, Virginia called Alexandria Country Day School where I taught brass, woodwind, piano, and string instruments to 4-8th graders and lead the K-3rd grade choir. I have extensive experience teaching students of all ages guitar, piano, and brass instruments.
