- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is individually negotiable based on the student's experience and family's situation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I gently and patiently get to know new students as musicians, learners, and people. For students with any some playing experience, I like to begin by hearing a minute or two of anything they enjoy playing. I remark on what was distinctive and pleasant, adding a suggestion or two to encourage focus on getting to the next level.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I take part in spring auditions, their preparation and adjudication. I sing in a truly challenging collegiate a cappella vocal ensemble which covers 500 years of musical styles. I study and perform in the summer chamber music conference at Bennington College, I listen to concerts, recordings, and streaming audio/video, and I read and study about music teaching. There is no end to it.
