FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I teach guitar lessons from my home in Havertown. Pricing is $25 a half hour lesson. For music entertainment, my rate is $150/hour for gigs in the Greater Philadelphia area. I'm happy to travel in a 90 mile radius of Philly, but gigs outside of a 30 mile radius of Philly will have a $50 travel charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Please let me know your preference of music, date, type of event and your budget. For most solo gigs, I play a mix of classic rock, southern rock, 80s/90s rock, country and a few party favorites. But I have literally HUNDREDS of songs in my repertoire and I'm more than happy to learn your requests or even take requests on the spot. If you would like to hire a band, I can provide that as well. I can provide the following configurations: Acoustic solo (guitar and vocals) Duo (2 guitars and vocals, guitar/vocals and percussion or guitar/vocals and bass) Trio (guitar/vocals, bass and drums or percussion) Four-piece (guitar/vocals, rhythm guitar, bass and drums) Five-piece (guitar/vocals, female vocals, rhythm guitar, bass and drums). Pricing for various configurations will depend on the length and type of music preferred. All quotes will include sound and lights provided by the band. For larger events or for larger crowds, I always recommend that we bring in a pro sound company, which will be an additional $300-400.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing music since I was a little kid. In high school, I was highly involved with my school's music program and played guitar, trumpet and marimba in Jazz Band, Marching Band, Concert Band and more. I also started playing in rock bands as a teenager. In college, I studied guitar with Glen Lyons at West Chester University. I have studied music theory at the college level and also took private lessons with respected jazz guitarist Chuck Anderson for five years. I've been playing professionally and semi-professionally since the 90s and continue to play between 5-15 gigs a month.
