FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to say I can make any budget work! Typically a writer can expect that each illustration will begin at $50 - $150. If you have 15 - 20 illustrations and would like them created in my full, detailed style, (which is very time consuming to create), the price could be around $5000 or more. However if you would like to spend $1000 - $2000 for multiple pieces very often I am able to alter my style to a more simplified look that always comes out well. I am easy to work with on price. Just be aware that most projects that are full books will begin at at least $1000 and will take a couple of months to complete.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I will receive a request for work, such as illustrations, via email or through my website. I work with the client over the email to come up with a plan and a price. Then I collect 1/3 payment before beginning and create rough sketches that I send to the client as a basic beginning point for design and direction. Next when these are OK'd I will continue to the finished sketches which are done very detailed and accurately so the client will know how they will look when painted. I make sure not to deviate too far from my finished sketches when painting. After the finished sketches have been approved I move on to the painting stage. First I will collect the second installment of the payment, them I will work very diligently to paint the illustrations according to the clients needs. After the paintings are done I will submit them to the client and, upon approval, I will collect the last installment of my payment. Easy!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
