I found Mike by accident and thought I'd try him out. I sent him a faded-but-beloved photo of my late sister and one from my childhood. Both were exposed to a lot to daylight and very faded. Mike did an incredible job restoring the color (not colorizing!) and bringing back details that faded over time. Then he picked up the postage for the postal return of my originals and various versions of the redone photos. After that, he emailed me all of the work that he did on the photos for me to keep. Mike created several versions and gave them all to me. I highly recommend Mike Vanemom Photography for your photorestoration! Oh, here's my late sister in all her bouffanted-hair prom glory. :)

I had a great experience working with Mike V. From the moment we met, he was kind, encouraging, and made me feel comfortable in front of the camera. He took plenty of photos and took the time to make sure we got a variety of shots.
One of the things I appreciated most was how personable he was. We spent time talking and getting to know each other, which made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. I left the session feeling genuinely encouraged after our conversation.
What really stood out to me was how invested he was in helping me get the best possible photos. It was clear that he genuinely cared about the purpose of the session and wanted me to have pictures that I could confidently use. He wasn't just taking photos—he was trying to bring out the best of me so that it would come through on camera. Since I had never done a professional photo shoot before, he coached me through the entire process, offering guidance on posing, expression, and confidence. His encouragement and attention to detail made a huge difference and helped me feel much more at ease and free to be myself.
I was very happy with the images he showed me during the session. Based on what I've already seen, I'm excited to receive the finished photos.
Overall, Mike V was professional, personable, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer who not only takes great pictures but also genuinely cares about helping people look their very best for whatever the occasion.

Working with Mike was a great experience. He clearly put a lot of care into every image — resizing, sharpening, color correction, and multiple background options — and the final results turned out beautifully. He was also upfront and fair about pricing, honoring his original quote despite spending extra time on the project. Would definitely work with him again.

Working with Mike was an absolute pleasure! I needed specialized photorestoration and formatting for a wedding quilt I’m making for my granddaughter. Mike restored a damaged 1930s wedding photo of my parents; brought out clear, vivid detail in a very dark and old Polaroid of our own cake cutting; and finally perfectly edited a picture of us celebrating our 56th anniversary this past April with the newly engaged couple. The digital files printed frame-perfect on fabric blocks for the quilt! Mike was extremely thorough, and went above and beyond by fixing subtle details I hadn't even noticed. If you need photorestoration, custom editing, or photography work, Mike exceeds a FIVE STAR service!

I was initially very nervous about entrusting all the evidence of my existence (my lifetime of print photos!) to a stranger. However, Mike immediately put me at ease with his professionalism, care, and excellent communication throughout the entire process.
From the start, Mike explained the digitization process clearly, kept me informed when my photos were received, and worked with me to determine the timeline I needed. He was incredibly timely and responsive, which made the experience stress-free.
The quality of the digitized photos was very good, especially given the variation in print quality, and Mike used tools to automatically enhance the images while also providing me with the original versions. I received everything on both an SD card and through a website for downloading. The results were great, and I couldn’t be happier!
For anyone considering photo digitization, I cannot recommend Mike highly enough. He delivers great value, outstanding results, and a professional yet kind approach that truly understands the personal nature of this task. I’ll definitely be recommending him to all my friends and colleagues!
