FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
VISUAL ART AND DESIGN DEGREE full of fabulously fun and engaging hands-on college classes that put me right smack in the middle of my element at the drawing table, behind an easel and the camera lens, in the darkroom, molding clay, and soaking in the masters. ARTS AND AGING training to better my work with older and elderly artists through the National Center of Creative Aging, Timeslips evidence-based seniorcare creative storytelling, and validation training through Naomi Feil's Validation Institute to provide a meaningful way to communicate with disoriented adults. WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES in decorative painting, and children's writing and illustrating. I've found truly inspiring ones in decorative painting at Caromal Colours Studio. At Highlights Foundation glued to every word and demo in The Visual Art of the Picture Book; The Picture Book: Mastering the Form; and The Advanced Illustrators Workshop. Semi-annual and chapter conferences with the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEGREES that balance my creative side and ensure I view my art projects from a business-world perspective. Associate and bachelor's. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS CAREER spanning 28 years in the community banking, higher education, and freelance worlds honing my skills and mastering that key word, "collaboration". CERTIFIED INDEPENDENT REPRESENTATIVE OF CAROMAL COLOURS I am so fascinated and excited about this amazing line of decorative finishes that I had to become one with it.
