GinaTheFashionista is a personal shopping and closet service company created by Gina Kantor in 2015. Previously over the past ten years, I have worked in retail within many areas and companies acquiring over 100 loyal clients by making their shopping an enjoyable experience. I am known to use customers information about body type and personal life to help them achieve a confident look in their daily life or for a special occasion. I work primarily with major department stores to be able to help my clients on any budget while saving them time. My service is different than most personal shopping services in which there is no charging hourly or commission but only one flat fee for the service that is needed. I am known to go above and beyond for her clients by thinking outside the box to get them what they are looking for by incorporating new fashion trends with their lifestyle. For one flat fee, I will make sure your experience is easy and validating whether your looking to get help with organizing and cleaning out your closet or a shopping experience.

By hiring someone online, you never really know what it may be like. I felt positive about it, but Gina exceeded anything I hoped for. She is a very hard worker and we accomplished a a great amount of work. After acquainting ourselves and reviewing the tasks to be accomplished, she had a plan and then we got to work. She came to work and that was evident. A tremendous amount of tasks were completed. I was elated. I could end the review there. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much she helped me mentally. The three rooms we worked in were very, very messy. I wouldn’t have let any of my friends see them the way they were. But after trying to get the rooms back to the way I always used to have them, for a variety of reasons, became unreachable. This was embarrassing for me, but I knew I couldn’t do it. Gina, was extremely supportive and kind. When I would remark on this or that being so bad, she convinced me with two words, “It’s fine.” It was really hard for me to have her see my mess, but not for one second did I feel judged. Today was a personal awakening of sorts. It’s rare to see someone who quietly lets you know it’s fine. It really is fine. She helped me so much!!!!!

I had never hired a stylist before, so my expectations were pretty low initially. Thankfully, that changed just five minutes into the shopping experience. It was evident that Gina had listened and remembered everything I mentioned during the closet review because the pieces she selected for me before I arrived were exactly what I was looking for. She was very efficient in finding the items and impressively quick in bringing me alternate options if I didn't like something. I'm not a huge fan of shopping; sorting through clothes, trying things on, and repeating the process is just frustrating. It always felt like a huge waste of time, especially since I usually end up walking away with 5-8 pieces costing more than they’re worth. However, with Gina, in under three hours, I bought at least 20 items, all of high-quality material, and still managed to stay below my budget. It felt magical. I genuinely don't think I can shop for myself anymore. But this experience taught me how to be a better shopper. I think Gina is well worth the price.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Gina. I had accumulated so much clothes of varying size ranges over the past few as my weight kept fluctuating. Cloth shopping has always made me feel overwhelmed. I get upset when I can't find the right fitting. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that someone provided professional service to help women like me who are not celebrities! In other words, her charges are very reasonable. She patiently went through my wardrobe collections as I tried them on. We went shopping on a different day, which was also a very satisfying experience for me. Gina has good taste and provides a lot of suggestions, not just for clothes but also for other accessories including shoes etc. I would highly recommend her in a heart beat!

Gina has a real talent at this. She came to my closet. Look through it for about 10 minutes and listened to what I wanted to add, and got my style. We went to Nordstroms, Neimans, and Bloomingdales. She pre-selected outfits and was right on target. The Blue Suit, the Mint Jacket and Green Flowered silky pants, the white cape dress (that at first glance I vetoed but said I would try it-obviously it is a hit), the white blouse with the ties, and the gray/blue jacket with pearls and rhinestones are Gina's selections. I had a real silk Japanese kimono and could not figure out what to wear with it. She recommended a slipdress which we didn't find at the store, but I found it online easily with her idea. "Whenever I see Gina, fashion and style always comes to mind. Not only is she very talented at what she does, she's very accommodating of your needs as well. It takes a unique skill set to be able to say, 'this is what I recommend for you - this is what would look good on you'. What I love the most about Gina's fashion style is that she's always up to date so she knows exactly what's the latest and what's not. I've been using Gina as my personal shopper for special occasions and to add staple items to my wardrobe and she never disappoints. I've gotten so many more compliments every time I wear something she has picked out for me. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge flat fees for all my services. I offer 4 different services/combination packages. A wardrobe update is a flat fee of $250, a closet assessment and wardrobe update combination is a flat fee of $500, a closet clean out and organization combination is a flat fee of $750 and the ultimate package of a closet assessment, clean out and organization with a wardrobe update is a flat fee of $975.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will get an inquiry from a potential customer and ask what they are looking for. From there I will set up whatever appointments are necessary to begin the process. If the initial meeting is at a clients home, I can ask all my questions when I see them in person, but if I am working with a client who is just doing a wardrobe update, I will send them a questionnaire to help me be able to get them everything they are looking for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Sociology from Northeastern University and a Fashion Business Certificate from Parsons New School.
