Welcome! As a certified online Reading Specialist, I provide structured, individualized lessons to meet the unique needs of each child. My expertise is in teaching reading to students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or epilepsy. I love wiggly learners and reluctant readers! My services are informed by the latest Science of Reading, and I use a state of the art, research-based program including decodable books, phonics lessons, videos, and games students can use in their sessions and at home. Phonics is taught in an explicit and sequential manner. Comprehension skills are demonstrated on high-interest texts as the child gains skill and confidence. Parents love the personalized portal I provide online where their children can practice with decodable books and engaging games that support their learning. In my practice, ALL are welcome since I am experienced and certified to meet the needs of reluctant readers as well as children with learning challenges such as ADHD, autism, epilepsy, or dyslexia. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a free hour of tutoring to anyone who connects me with a new customer. A $5 per hour discount is available for clients who invest in 5 or more sessions in advance. Sessions are only provided if payments are provided upfront. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged for lessons that are skipped or cancelled fewer than 12 hours in advance. The fee for the second or third child from the same home will be reduced by at least $10 per hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we text to set up a free Zoom consultation when you will share your goals for tutoring. Also, I will assess the student and provide recommendations. Next, we schedule services to proceed according to the child’s needs and interests. Finally, you sit back and enjoy the fruits of the collaboration. Your child thrives as a reader and writer, and we all smile and enjoy a sense of accomplishment! I for one look forward to that day.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master’ in Elementary Education and master’s in Reading K-12 with a 4.0 GPA. Presently, I am pursuing certification as a Wilson reading tutor and a special education teacher.
