FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained at PetSmart as a bather originally and became a groomer after going to PetSmart's grooming Academy. After that I trained with my salon manager for two months before becoming a commissioning groomer. I left PetSmart to pursue a more personal and independent grooming business and at Suite Dog Daze where I learned about animal behaviour and began my specialization in hard to groom animals and cats. I now work full time as a CNA and groom animals on the side.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a passion for animals and to be honest, I stumbled on grooming without knowing how perfect it is for me! I love what I do! It is so rewarding and it is such a blessing to be able to be there for the dogs and cats others have given up on. I groom with passion and my favorite part is developing a trust and connection with the animals I work with and their families.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of dogs and am a very experienced cat groomer as well. I have found that I have a knack for helping dogs and cats through their fears of grooming, giving them an experience with the process that is much better than they have had before. I work well with puppies and kittens, too knowing that their first few grooms are the most important grooms of their lives.
