If you read one thing from this review, it is that Top Shield Roofing is the best roofing company in the Portland metro area. Go with them. You won't be disappointed. Unlike most companies, they are certified in attic + roof ventilation.A few months ago we got a mold inspection done of our house. One problem area found was mold in the attic, which is quite common in the PNW. I researched all of the top 5 star roofing companies in the area to have them walk our roof and ensure we have proper ventilation. I had 10 companies come out and 9 of them said that our roof was perfect and no ventilation was needed. Top Shield was the 10th and they took 2 hours to review every piece of our roof. They saved our lives.Oscar open up the air vents and the insulation was pushed to the top, meaning that there was not air flow. He showed the mold right away in our roof. Our roof was incorrectly done without the right gaps for the hot air to flow up and out to the attic and out. We spent time designing out how much intake to exhaust vents we should have and where (Oscar is brilliant and knows ventilation to Oregon building codes). We went from some ventilation perhaps installed in our attic to a reroof. It was scary and we were uncertain that we made the right decision. We did.When they took off the shingles, they pulled up the plywood and our plywood was actually BURNT - not a little bit, a LOT. I have never ever seen this before. The team took off all of plywood, created air gaps to ensure the insulation doesn't push up, and then redid the roof with the ventilation everywhere per our discussion.They communicated each step of the process. To say they are detail oriented is an understatement. Out of all of the 5 star rated top roofing companies in Oregon, they were the only ones that found this mistake and our roof was crumbling from heat and mold without us knowing. That's why I say that they saved our lives. They noticed what others didn't. And they redid our roof to perfection. I am in awe. Top Shield is like family to us now. They are kind, respectful, ALWAYS on time (to the minute), the hardest workers and the smartest in the trade.If you want to make sure your family stays healthy, go with them. They will not only do your roof but make sure it's done right and with the correct ventilation. Mold is no joke and I swear that this company is the only roofing company that does it right.

Amazing job. We have just had a brand new roof installed on our home. They did an outstanding job and were professional and responsive in every way. Professional and detailed inspection of my roof and attic; provided pictures and written estimate with notes on each repair needed. Oscar was responsive and on time, and very knowledgeable. Office staff also very responsive and friendly. Provided pictures after work was done and explained additional options to extend life of the roof. Just routine maintenance for me, a small job, but I felt like they put just as much effort in as they would for a bigger job. Overall great experience!

Not all heros wear capes, badges, or fight fires. Top Shield Roofing, Edlin, Oscar, and Victor are heros!In the Portland snow storm of January 13, 2024, our skylight flew off and the snow and wind was blowing right into our house. I called Top Shield and they actually came out within a few hours and were able to seal and put the skylight back on temporarily to get us through the storm and the next few days. Those guys were up on our roof in the snow and wind! They came out on MLK day to install the new skylight. Its just amazing that they even came out and are able to fix the skylight permanently in such a short time period.Finally, they are just nice people! Super easy to deal with, professional and communicative. I dont know what we would have done without Top Shield! They are heros!I know who Im using for any roofing needs in the future. Hands down, Top Shield Roofing!
