Excellent pianomovers! When we moved our 100 year old piano, we had two particularly tricky houses to navigate with many stairs, gravel, and obstacles. Not only did they use their heads to think of a smart way to move the piano carefully, they were also gracious and polite as they did so. Very smart, thoughtful, respectful and extremely capable with a delicate (and heavy!) musical instrument.

My piano was moved from my home to my grandson's. The movers arrived exactly at the time they promised and had the piano in their truck in just a few minutes. Unbelievable! To make the move even better, both men were so nice; they made it a real pleasure to do business with their company.

They showed up right on time! 5 minutes and my piano was loaded and ready to go. At the new place, 5 minutes and they had the piano in place. What an easy move!

Alexander was very communicative and flexible. My piano was wrapped very well and I’m confident they took good care of it, they put a lot of effort into not damaging the piano or the homes it came out of and into, including the floors. They were extremely fast and professional and made friends with the dog. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a pianomoved in portland.

Here's what DID go well: Ken deserves props for his creative problem solving and for working very hard to accomplish the job despite several setbacks. When their trailer was malfunctioning, they went and rented one so they wouldn't have to cancel on me. When they needed a ramp and didn't have one, they deconstructed a wooden pallet and jerry rigged one. They were kind and hard working. Unfortunately, so much went wrong that I have to give a low rating.
Pretty much all of the setbacks they encountered on the job were due to not carefully reading my messages in advance and therefore not bringing adequate gear or manpower to complete the job of moving my upright piano.
I had warned that the piano was particularly heavy and difficult to move, that there would be a front stoop at each location with 1-2 steps, and also gave them the piano's measurements and asked them to double check the height of their trailer to make sure it would fit. They assured me it would. Then they showed up with just two guys and a strap, but no dolly, no ramp, and a trailer that was too short to fit the piano (a mistake we unfortunately didn't realize until the piano was already sitting in the driveway).
Every moment of moving it felt precarious and, frankly, dangerous. Had they not spent money to rent a trailer I would have called it way sooner, but I felt bad. The most honest and professional thing for them to do would have been to admit right away that they had not done their due diligence and had underestimated the task at hand, and offer to come back a different day with sufficient equipment to do the job well.
By the time they did offer this, I had already had to white knuckle for an hour watching them struggle to carry it inches at a time, accidentally set it on someone's foot at one point, and listen to the sound of my antique piano scraping along the sidewalk because they couldn't lift it high enough. I had to help them lift it multiple times just so it wouldn't get damaged. You should be humble enough and care enough about doing a good job with your customer's belongings to admit when you are unprepared instead of waiting for me to awkwardly have to fire you in the middle of a flailing attempt.
I ended up helping them carry it into the garage and paid them half for the trouble of renting the trailer, then hired West Coast Piano Movers to come a few days later and finish the job. They were amazingly quick, professional, and affordable. I appreciate Ken's efforts, and I'm sure he would do a great job with general moving needs but suggest you steer clear if you're moving heavy, high value items like pianos.
