FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is straightforward and designed to provide high-quality music education. Tuition is paid monthly in advance and remains consistent throughout the year. Discounts are available for students who commit to a full year of lessons. Additional costs for materials or events are added only as necessary, and I ensure clear communication about any extra fees. Please note that lesson prices may be adjusted once a year due to inflation or other factors, and you’ll be notified well in advance of any changes. My goal is to keep tuition affordable while maintaining a high standard of education.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free first lesson. I'd love to get to know you and make sure it's a good fit for all!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a diverse educational background that has shaped my work as a musician and teacher. I studied piano for fourteen years with Kelli Brown Stephens, completing the Oregon Music Teachers Association’s Level 10 Syllabus. I also studied harp with Marion Fouse, and later with Gesine Dreyer in Germany, which deepened my understanding of European classical music traditions. After earning degrees in Liberal Studies and Philosophy, I returned to my true passion—music performance. I am currently completing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance at Portland State University, studying under Dr. Julia Lee (piano) and Denise Fujikawa (harp). Additionally, I trained at the Golandsky Institute at Princeton University in the Taubman Approach for two summers, which has greatly influenced both my performance and teaching techniques. Through my studies and training, I've developed a deep understanding of music and technique, which I now pass on to my students.
