I was the chef/owner of Smallwares restaurant in Portland for 7 years. I then teamed up with my partner to do catering. Our experience in catering over the years involve small dinners in homes, weddings, company parties and many more. We work on a smaller scale and love to customize menus for people and work within budgets. My partner Nathan and I have a vast range of cooking experience in many different cuisines. We have worked in top New York restaurants, farm to table bakeries, Italian, Indian, Texas Bbq and of course everything in between. We love high end and low end cooking. We strive to guarantee a wonderful experience no matter what the menu is.

She was the only one that responded to my request for catering a dinner to my home. Nice to work with. Dinner was great, but salad was just mixed greens with side of dressing.

Poor communication. It’s understandable if someone can’t work with your budget, menu, or time but at least communicate. I was able to have a phone call with her but then she ghosted me after. Even after I followed up. A simple message of “I will not be able” is enough. Very unprofessional. Not to mention I wasn’t ever able to get a word in while on the phone call. Understandable if someone is busy and in a rush but then maybe don’t over schedule yourself. Just lacking professionalism.

Johanna was wonderful! She was very responsive and worked with me to create a custom menu for my group of 9. The food was delicious and very high-end. We all loved it! She brought her own cooking and serving utensils and cleaned up. We had a wonderful experience.

    I like to have a quick phone call with the possible client first. I ask what you are looking for and food preferences are. I will also ask you what your budget is and try and work around that.
