FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most of my mural projects are priced per-square-foot of the space to be painted. Most murals are between $7-$12 per square foot, and are dependent on the complexity of the requested design, and the accessibility of the surface to be painted. I can usually come up with a design to accommodate most budgets.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation: To get us started, I will usually come out to visit your mural site, or ask you to send me some pictures if we live farther apart. We will spend some time discussing your ideas and brainstorm the project together. Once we have a square footage measurement, I can come up with a quote, based on our discussion. Sketch: Next, I will create a full-color digital sketch over a picture of your wall, so you can see how it will look. For some projects, I may ask for a $100 sketch fee, to be applied towards your final project fee. Production: Now, your mural comes to life! We will discuss a schedule and I will start painting. I work quickly - one mural can sometimes only take me one day to complete (this will of course depend on size and complexity though). Your final quoted price includes all travel (within Portland metro and close-by), materials, work to completion, and clear protective finish.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Laguna College of Art and Design. I majored in Illustration. I have been painting residential and commercial murals since 2003.
